Customer Marketing Specialist

Customer Marketing Specialist - BASF | Nunhems Italy

What you can expect _ Job Purpose
Jobholder will be part of the local country marketing & sales team (Marketing & Sales Division), reporting to the Country Manager, working in a hybrid setting (on site and smart working) and travelling within the country for (estimated) 20% of time.

As Customer Marketing Specialist you:

  • will develop and implement the customer marketing strategy which provides added value to the customer and generates further demand for our growth. The customer marketing strategy will aim to put BASF | Nunhems as the most preferred partner by creating a unique customer experience for our customers along the value chain.
  • will align the different crop strategies with the objective to maintain a high level of satisfaction of existing customers and support crop marketing strategies to capture markets with best-performing consumer-oriented solutions.
  • will guide and equip teams with frameworks, tools and strategic thinking for their success at the customers and to build towards an outstanding customer experience.
  •  will bring the BASF | Nunhems to the top of mind of our key players in the region.

What you can expect _ Major Tasks & Responsibilities

  • To define and maintain the go-to-market strategy of the countries including tactical aspects related to commercial policy (such as target market definition, customer segmentation, customer mapping, customer approach, commercial conditions, effective rebate framework, resource optimization to best approach the markets etc) by ensuring a close collaboration with the Area Sales Manager, Country Manager and Head of Region with the objective to maximize our sales and our market share in the countries
  • To lead the customer experience initiatives in the country with the objective to better serve our customers and become the preferred partner along the vegetable value chain, eg. NPS initiatives (develop initiatives coming from customer surveys and guide the local teams to implement the proposed solutions), develop differentiated initiatives depending on the priorities and segmentation (commercial conditions, services, loyalty programs, joint promotions, alliances with other agricultural input companies, partnerships with technological, digital, marketing players, etc.), etc.
  • To lead and monitor the execution of yearly marketing and sales country plan covering the “5 P’s” (product/price/promotion/placement/people) by consolidating all the different inputs: crop, non-crop and customer strategies with the objective to reach agreed Country Budget of the country and the Must Win Battles
  • To lead and develop the yearly Marketing and Communication plan, including managing the budget and resources and steer the Marketing Communication Specialist to implement accordingly, with the objective to support the crop and customer strategies (eg product introductions, customer events, etc.) and to bring the BASF | Nunhems brand to the top of mind of the key players as the preferred partner to collaborate with to make healthy eating enjoyable and sustainable
  • Steer Key Account Management and guide, challenge and support our sales teams (crop communities and country teams) to develop and implement best in class customer business plans with the objective to become the preferred partner throughout the vegetable value chain.
  • To lead local market, customer and competitor intelligence with the objective to support local strategic decisions (e.g. go-to-market, customer strategies, customer solutions, etc.)
  • To define and lead the implementation of digital marketing strategies with the objective to digitalize the customer experience in as many touchpoints as possible by creating e.g. a strategy for content marketing, etc.
  • To support Country managers with commercial policies, pricing and tracking of market performance

What we expect _ Education, work experience & skills
Education:

o Master’s in marketing or related field

o Possesses a high level of knowledge of ICT tools, specifically MS Office suit.

o Fluent English mandatory

Experience:

o At least 3 years’ experience in marketing with strategic and tactical activities including price analyses, customer segmentation, go-to market strategy and customer experience design. Prefer experience with a Business-to-Business marketing in multinational company of highly technical product.

o Experience activating commercial excellence.

 Experience gathering data and analyzing it to determine opportunities and threats.

o Experience creating plans that either capitalize or defend the markets.

o Experience on consultancy to move teams to a higher level of performance.

o Experience on strategic marketing communication.

o Experience influencing and negotiating internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

o Experience building and maintaining industry and internal relationship.

Competences:

o To question and challenge beyond the apparent or obvious.

o Ability to manage complex data and insight, translating into highlights and trends.

o To be very capable to sell ideas.

o Business acumen

This position requires a high level of flexibility to both high level strategic discussions and operational marketing activities internally with multi-disciplinary stakeholders and externally with many different customer types and other stakeholders.
