Role Purpose:

1. Implement the strategy for the assigned vegetable crops (Leafy and Brassicas) in the designated territory (all Italy)

2. Act as the Product Marketing interface to the Regional Portfolio Manager(s)

3. Is the recognized local authority on product & market knowledge for the assigned crops

4. Drives the achievement of the commercial (sales & profit) ambition in close collaboration with the Commercial Units (CUs)

5. Leads the Territory Crop Unit and Campaign planning for the assigned crops.

6. Manages the interface between supply, marketing and sales

Accountabilities:

  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of the changing market trends and grower needs and a high level knowledge regarding the competitors' key varieties
  • Translates the Regional Trial Plan (HPC output) into detailed territory and/ or CU plans
  • Plans the standard varieties, trial seeds allocation and key trait evaluation for the PLC 6 trials and plans with the Marketing Operations Lead the campaign incl. organization of demonstration trials
  • Plan and evaluates key trials with key producers, and organizes a large number of trials with the Techn Sales Reps
  • Collects trial results and data and consolidates into CU or Territory Trial reports (- and where have a Territory crop specialization, represent the Territory's needs within the RCU, and with the Regional Portfolio Lead)
  • Refines the product positioning for launching varieties and defines the key buying factors
  • Defines, together with the CU Commercial manager / Territory Marketing Manager, the price list based on price guidance input from Regional Portfolio Lead
  • Inputs variety forecasts for three years forward into IBP and reviews this on 'moments that matter' for seed production
  • Gives technical support to key producers, leverages technical knowledge to the sales team to prepare sales arguments and after sales support
  • Provides investigation support for customer complaints

Critical experience and knowledge:

  • 5+ years in marketing, product/trialing development or sales management
  • 5+ years of Vegetables Seeds business and/or marketing experience
  • Profound knowledge of the Vegetables Seeds market and customer needs
  • Track-record of successful people/processes management
  • Good English language proficiency

  • Creates strong, distinctive crop plans
  • Co-creates campaign plans
  • Significant in-field presence (approx. >50% of time)

Job location: Milan office or home-based / any location in Italy.
