What you can expect _ Job Purpose
Jobholder will be part of our Marketing & Sales Division, Product Development Department, based in Sicily, reporting hierarchically to Head of PD EMEA, functionally Regional Specialist PD and collaborating with the other local & regional stakeholders on action plans.
Domestic travel to visit trials and customers are required.
As Product Development Specialist Tomato & Pepper – Sicily, you are responsible to use local market, customer and crop expertise to create local trial plans maximizing trial representativeness, impact and efficiency and this in coordination with the Regional Specialist Product Development and in line with crop strategy. Proposes and leads the development of basic and advanced product growing concepts aiming to create innovative customized solutions for local key customers and/or key markets.
What you can expect _ Major Tasks & Responsibilities
- Local Trial plan coordination to ensure the correct evaluation, obtention of quality data and customer feedback to perform analysis and back up elevation proposals, variety positioning and value proposition.
- Independently, coordinates and trains local trial technicians to effectively set up and execute trial plans
- Data capturing, analysis and presentation of elevation proposals
- Defines variety value proposition and positioning
- Acts as an internal and external technical reference and provides expert knowledge to enable sales and drive customer success with BASF | Nunhems varieties.
- Offers local vision about market opportunities & trends
- Provides deep expert knowledge to enable sales and serve customers
- Drives growing concept development locally
- Drives PD customer engagement & collaboration with sales in demand creation
- Drives & enables collaboration with R&D and M&S functions locally
- Supports the overall PD agenda
What we expect _ Education, work experience & skills
- BSc with 8 years of relevant experience, or Msc with 5 years of applicable experience preferably in greenhouse tomatoes and peppers
- Professional Knowledge in experimentation skills and in agronomical skills relevant to the crop
- Strong Team worker and communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Knowledge of local Italian language.
- English skills verbal and written
- Assertive decision making;
- Advanced Results orientation, Decisiveness, Assertiveness, Accountability, Ownership, Customer Orientation and Commecial Mindset
- Proficiency with MS Office products.
- Digital mindset. Understanding importance of good tools and the power of data.
- Located in Sicily
- Availability to work in extreme open field conditions.
