Account Manager Retail

Do you have relevant work experience in sales and account management in the retail industry, food service in Italia and a good understanding of the supply chain of Fruit and Vegetables and its players? Then we are looking for you!

What does your job as Account Manager Retail at Rijk Zwaan look like?

You create business opportunities by connecting companies, colleagues and individual growers with traders, supermarkets and consumers, with the aim of giving the best positioning to the varieties and brands of Rijk Zwaan.

In the role of Account Manager Retail you combine different tasks like marketing, sales, project management and account management. You carry out market research, following complex market dynamics and developments. You are part of an international network of Account Managers focusing on Retail and Trade, organizing international events and participating to sector fairs and congresses.

Your main goals will be:

  • develop relationships with the retail chains, trading companies and food service players;
  • introduce new marketing concepts to retail, trade and food service industry and their suppliers;
  • creation of support materials for RZ customers like packaging and in store promotion materials;
  • Initiate new business development in the fresh supply chain;

Your contribution:

You are a strong communicator with a high degree of motivation and enthusiasm. As proactive collaborator you are resourceful, you have the ability to follow market trends, new technologies, you take the initiative to develop new business concepts and you feel inclined to lead market changes. With your commercial insight, social skills and team mentality you can establish and strongly maintain relationships with all the stakeholders. Frequent business trips (about 50% of the working time) are not a problem to you and, you are fluent in English and Italian. In addition, we can find the following on your resume:

  • A completed Master degree in the field of Agriculture
  • At least 10 years' relevant work experience in sales, horticulture and product management
  • Independent and proactive approach, making your own planning and executing projects in team
